About Me Judy Meeh

A local Houstonian, Judy Harris Meeh has been compassionately advocating for families and children since 1995 in the areas of family law, mediation, criminal law, including DWI/DUI defense, and juvenile defense.  As someone who has personally experienced the traumas and difficulties of divorce, Ms. Meeh is committed to helping families and children swiftly obtain the best possible results, whether helping them through difficult family issues or defending them before the criminal justice system.  A certified mediator, Ms. Meeh regularly serves as a court appointed amicus attorney to protect the best interests of children involved in suits brought under the Texas Family Code, and has served as a child protective services mediator for Galveston County.  In recognition for her work in this area of law, Ms. Meeh was named a 2007-2008 Top Family Lawyer by H Magazine.

Ms. Meeh is member of the State Bar of Texas (Family Law Section), the Houston Bar Association, the Galveston Bar Association, and, for the past ten years, has been a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, an honorary society of lawyers who are among the best trained attorneys in Texas.  She received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in 1994, and is admitted to practice law in the State of Texas.  She received a Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Arts from the University of Houston at Clear Lake in 1981 and 1984, respectively.

Ms. Meeh gained unique insight into the challenges faced by juvenile defendants and children experiencing divorce during her pre-law experience as a high school, intermediate school, and junior college teacher, and she has distinctive edge in the courtroom resulting from years of acting experience.  In her free time, Ms. Meeh is an avid reader, an enthusiastic music fan, and enjoys sailing and power boating.
